There are many Rolex watches for sale to cater for the demand for these watches. One would think that the demand for these watches would be reasonable owing to the fact that the price of these watches are on the higher side. This, however, is not the case. Rolex churns out about 2000 watches daily to cater for the growing market. There are people out there who save for years just to buy one of the coveted Rolex models. Rolex watches have evolved over time. Normally, evolution would mean that the previous models are phased out and replaced by newer and more modern models.
However, the evolution of these watches has seen the previous models stand the test of time. The Rolex Datejust was the first type of dial to be manufactured. In particular, the Rolex Datejust 6605 with a characteristic coin bezel was introduced in the 1950’s. The model was available in 18k yellow gold, white gold, platinum and stainless steel materials after its proof of success. Later on the models were available in a flute bezel. There was also the introduction of options when it came to the bracelets which included variety comprising of: the jubilee bracelet, the Oyster bracelet and the leather strap. Then there was the introduction of the Submariner 6204. It was based on the Rolex dial explorer and had to go through a number of tests to prove its durability before it was released to the public in the 1950’s. Some of these tests included testing the water in deep sea levels and in sub zero temperatures in order to determine how resistant the watch was to water, the pressure under the water and drastic or gradual changes in the temperature.
